MindGenius for iPad now Released

MindGenius are pleased to announce the release of MindGenius for iPad, the perfect tool for capturing information on the go. This App is free and available now. Download App.

In creating the App we have gone to great lengths to ensure that we have retained the DNA of the MindGenius desktop application. We have made sure that key features have been delivered on the iPad such as a ‘Type & Return’ equivalent to quickly add branches and of course our Map Explorer which is particularly relevant and useful on this platform.

MindGenius for iPad is now the only application that is 100% compatible with the MindGenius Desktop, maps can be exchanged with the desktop via email or Dropbox and all information will be retained.

MindGenius for iPad is ideal for taking notes in meetings and seminars, creating quick to do lists, and anywhere else you require a fast intuitive method to think things through. MindGenius for iPad can help you improve your personal productivity and is fully compatible with MindGenius for PC.

Highlights
  • Simple gestures to add and move branches, allowing you to quickly capture and structure your thoughts.
  • Use Output Tree or Map diagram layouts.
  • Add multiple branches without interruption, initiate Add branch to access the keyboard then simply Type and select ‘+’ to add multiple branches.
  • Includes the unique MindGenius Map Explorer which allows you to focus in on any branch in your map to expand and add more detail.
  • Pan mode, extends the navigation capability of the map explorer while browsing large maps.
  • 100% compatible with MindGenius desktop; Notes, categories, resources, pictures and action properties are all retained.
  • Send maps between the desktop and iPad using Dropbox integration or email.

I have just downloaded! Can't wait to use this on the iPad. I love the big sister of this on my PC and having it on my iPad will mean I can use MindGenius anywhere.

Looks good! Any plans for an Android version?

I also would be interested to know your plans for an Android version.

I agree with Jamie W - the Mindjet Android version is very useful and a MindGenius version would be a winner.

Great news! Just had a quick look at the app and the outline and focus in feature really sets this apart from other tools out there. Thanks MindGenius.

Thanks for your comments everyone. There's real excitement at MindGenius about this release. Unfortunately no Android versions planned at the moment but we can see there is a demand here and will keep this in mind for future releases.

Hi Mark, is your map saved as .mgmx? This is the format supported by the iPad. Happy to help you here or if you have any additional questions, iPad Support is available at ipadsupport@mindgenius.com.

Looking forward to an Android version, as I will never get an iPad.

Explorer feature is very good for navigation. However, I can't add notes / task info or categories to a topic - any ideas?

i am using it on PC, Any plans for an Android v ersion?

Kelly Robertson said...

Thanks for your comments. Colin - currently these options are read only and will enable you to view all properties added in the desktop version. And we are keeping an eye on demand for an Android version.

Agree with Colin, need to be able to add/edit notes, task dates etc. to really meet my requirements. Big shame as otherwise the app seems to be a nice transition from desktop and I'm now doing much of my work on iPad. Really reluctant to look at other apps which do have this functionality, but may have to if additional functionality is not imminent.

Any idea if/when this is planned MindGenius?

For me, it's one of the key stand-out features of MindGenius, especially as I primarily use it for task management

Hi Kelly / Mindgenius - further to my above post any idea if, and if so when, the ability to add/edit note, task dates etc might make an appearance? This is something I need and I'm a big fan of mindgenius so would be keen to know if this is planned for. Thanks

Kelly Robertson said...

Thanks for your comment. No imminent plans for this at the moment I'm afraid.

Another request here for an Android version. Am considering Mindjet vs MindGenius, and while I like MindGenius better on the Desktop, I haven't found anyway to work with files on my Android (say using Dropbox to share files). Unfortunately, the ability to work with my mind map files on android phone and tablet is essential for my productivity. Any chance it's about to be released??

Hi there, unfortunately this isn't something we are working on at the moment.
