MindGenius free Map Viewer now available

Do you work in an environment where some of your colleagues don’t have access to MindGenius, meaning you must export maps to other MS Office applications before you can share your thinking and ideas? If so, the release of the free MindGenius map viewer will allow you to distribute your ideas in their original format.

As well as allowing colleagues to view your maps, the Map Viewer also allows them to add Notes to branches, enabling them to review maps and add comments and feedback to your ideas before sending it back to you.

While currently a full trial version of MindGenius does turn into a viewer after 30 days, it does not offer the capability to add branch notes and the Map Viewer file is also far more compact which has seen it rolled out to several Enterprise customers' desktops.

The new Map Viewer may also be helpful in the Academic world as it allows tutors or teachers to issue revision maps or project outlines to students and then instruct them to download the Map Viewer file to access them at home. The download is a straightforward and simple process which only takes a couple of minutes.

The map viewer is free and available to download now from http://www.mindgenius.com/support/version-3-downloads.aspx

Do you think your colleagues will make use of this new viewer?

I am pleased that you have made this S/W avaliable for my colleagues who do not have MindGenius. I am also supprised that you have taken so long to realise your excelent product is not going to establish itself in the market until more people know it exists. I would also suggest you make it clear to your clients that have more then one PC node it is necessary to purchase the Business version of MindGenous if they intend to run it on more then two workstations. ie Office, Laptop and Home,

The viewer I downloaded cannot find or open the Mind Genius maps I already have on my computer.

Hi, thanks for your comments. In response to Comment 1, it’s good to hear that you think the Map Viewer will be helpful for your colleagues and we will take all of your comments on board, including those regarding licensing. Just to re-iterate, with MindGenius Business users can license on 2 machines, eg work PC and laptop and MindGenius Education can only be licensed on one machine.

In response to comment 2, if you are experiencing problems with the Map Viewer, please contact our Support team at support@mindgenius.com and they will resolve any issues with you.

I stupidly downloaded the map viewer onto the same machine as I have mindgenius 3 on and then opened a few maps with it.
I then found that to stop the viewer being the default MG 3 program on my computer I had to remove it. This left me with lots of MG 3 files which did not know which program to open in until I filled in the dialog box which pops up in such circumstances. All is now well!! (And I have version 3.1 to boot - even better).
But would it not be an idea, on the grounds that most people are as stupid as I am, to warn users not to install it onto a machine which already has MG 3?!
